THE BIRDS

As I was pouring my first cup of coffee yesterday morning, I saw a Falcon sitting in a tree in our back yard. I stood watching it as it scoped the area looking for it's food. We get moles on our property and we welcome our feathered friend's help in ridding our grass of the annoying critters. As he swooped down, I couldn't make out if he got his catch, but he took off into the trees and I lost sight of him. I had an early morning doctor appointment, and as I drove my route to the office I saw a group of Canadian Geese along with some Seagulls, in a large puddle of water, that was caused by days of rain that we had. I pulled over to the side of the road and took this picture.

Then further on down the road, were the Snow Geese. They wing there way here every year after the farmers have plowed under their fields for the winter. It is a sight that I look forward to every year. There are times when there are so many of the Geese packed together in one place, that it looks like snow covering the ground.

Here are a couple of close-ups of the wonderful birds that I found on the internet.

Take notice to the one that isn't white. I'm not sure why, I've never read up on it. I guess I should. But we do see a lot of them also.

The picture below is one we can often see through their winter stay with us.

There are many times that we are in wonder over the number of these beautiful birds in the sky.

The sight is even more impressive both as the sun rises and sets over Delaware.

I sure do miss these sights after our visitors return to the home in the north.

Although the Snow Geese aren't here all year, the Canadian Geese and a variety of Seagulls are always a part of our scenery, and I love watching and listening to them as they make their way across our skies.
