TABLESCAPE TUESDAY ENTRY 9/16/08

My first thoughts of Autumn turn to, what new arrangement I can make for our dinning room table this year. I always try to come up with something that will take me right thru to Thanksgiving. Above is the arrangement that I've made this year.

When I think of this season, my first thoughts go to apples, our son's favorite dessert, French Apple Pie with Pecan Ice Cream, Jewish Apple Cake, my husband's favorite and setting the table with our apple dishes, so that's what I've chosen for today's Tablscape Tuesday.
Our Apple pattern Franciscan dinnerware.

Here I've used our apple plates that I found at Marshall's. I also have some hung up in our kitchen above the stove

I love colored galssware, especially red. Here I've used two different patterns. The smaller stems Ive recently purchased. I like to let the kids have stemware too, when they dine with us, but found they have knocked over the taller glasses, so I bought these shorter wine stems.

Those are our cabbage leave placemats that I've used. I just looked them up on the computer the other day, and they are still available.

I wanted to show the individual, apple, tea lights that I've used at each place setting. They were from my boutique, that I owned a few years ago.

Some of the serving pieces I've acquired over the years, include this apple pattern that I spotted at a Happy Harry's Drug store. They called out to me, "Buy me, Buy me".

Now, what would be more appropriate for a table setting such as this, than an apple pie for dessert.

Being the hopeless romantic that I am, I enjoy turning the lights down and eating by candlelight. Some things never change, even as one gets older.

I live in apple country, so this tablesetting is really appealing. The Fransciscan dishes remind me of a friend who had that pattern.
