MY HUSBAND'S ITALY

This is my husband's birthplace, ISOLA D' ISTRA, ITALY, or just referred to as Isola, by those who lived there. After the WWII, it became part of Yugoslavia and most of the town's people moved, my husband's family went to Trieste Italy. But every time he goes home, in his heart, his home is still Isola. The picture below, was taken on a hillside, looking down on Isola. Isn't it beautiful...... This next picture is of the church he attended and served as an alter boy.
I love these next pictures of the inside, it's exactly what I think the inside of a church should look like.

The priest lives in this next house. I love everything about it. The colors, the trim work, etc.....Well.... maybe not that statue sitting on the corner of the building.

Even the narrow streets and the old buildings have their charm. Not too many SUVs travel these streets.

My father-in-law, was a fisherman by trade, so there are always pictures taken of the boats and docks.

Even this old bell tower is worth taking a picture of.

I hope you enjoyed my husband's little piece of Italy. There is so much more, but it's on another, older camera and I'll have to save those for another time.

I wish I could be strolling down the little alleyways and roads. I agree that is how I picture a church to be, too. Thanks for sharing. ~ Robyn

D- how wonderful to be able to reconnect with your freind! When I was down in NM at our house we are trying to sell I ran into a friend at a yard sale. She mentioned she had a friend that lived in the area we are living now in CO. When she mentioned the name- I also knew this friend! I am currently trying to find a phone # for her as she is not in the phone book but yahoo had an address for Gayle so I sent her a note yesterday. I do so hope we can reconnect also!!!

D.. I don't think you're crazy at all.. I'll keep an eye out for that "special" rooster clock.. It's so nice to know someone "truly" knows what we go through this time of year. And this year more so.. 60 hours a week in another shop, plus my own and of course you have to save some time for your own home and hubby. I'm truly blest with his understanding... Hope you have a super day..hugs ~lynne~

D,

Thank you so much for stopping by Sunbonnet Cottage.

Your blog is lovely. I can tell that you are a wonderful decorator. I love to decorate too, but most times get frustrated with my skills at it.

I hope you visit again. I know that I will visit you again soon.

It's nice meeting you.
