I received a gift the other day, from a couple from church. I've been baking for them, over the past few years, and sharing my recipes with them. I've never met the women, she is ill and isn't able to come to church. But we write notes back and forth to one another, and have gotten to know each other that way. Today I thought I'd share my gift with you. First the card, which I thought was so appropriate for the season. And here's my gift. Isn't she beautiful. She is part of the Jim Shore Collection, an artisan that I have come to admired for years now. I often see him on QVC, and have wished to own one of his works, but was afraid to start 'yet another' collection. This figurine is called 'Angel Of Hospitality'. Maybe they chose this one for me because the husband first had some of my baking at one of our Hospitality gatherings at church. He was there to help serve. That's when I first learned of his wife's illness and his being the baker in the family. Don't you love her little teapot and cup and saucer.

Hi D, I've seen Jim Shore's things on QVC and they are so cute. I see that he has teamed up with the Boyd Bears Company now too. My Mom & I watch QVC together. Your angel sure is a cutie and the sentiment behind her is even better! I hope your Christmas is going great - I'm waiting for the Christmas ham and sweet potatoes to come out of the oven so I grabbed a few minutes to check in with you guys...Robyn
