Today I've decided to share a recipe, which is a family favorite, called PEACH KUCHEN. It is one of the easiest recipes to make. I show it here giving it a very country look, but depending on the way you choose to present it, you and your family and friends will love it.
THE DOUGH LAYER:
2 C. Flour
1/4 tsp. Baking Soda
1/2 tsp. Salt
1/2 C. Butter or margarine, slightly softened
In a bowl combine all of the ingredients except butter/margarine. Cut butter/marg. into the ingredients, as for pie crust, but do not roll. Mix until the dough layer is as fine as corn meal. Spread on the bottom and up the sides of an ungreased 9" x 13" baking dish.
THE PEACH LAYER:
12 Peach halves (if using canned peaches it's about 1 lg. + 1 small can)
1/2 C. Sugar (I use less if canned peaches)
1 Tbs. Cinnamon
Place peach halves cut side up on the dough. Sprinkle the sugar and cinnamon over the fruit. Bake in pre-heated 375 degree over for 15 min., then remove from oven.
THE CUSTARD LAYER:
1 pint Heavy Cream
2 Eggs
Combine the cream and eggs. Pour over the kuchen and return to oven. Bake 30 minutes more or until the custard develops a slight crust.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
HINTS...........Use a glass baking dish for best results. An egg turner works best for slicing and serving the pieces. Serves twelve.
Hope you enjoy this family favorite. I just made it to bring to my doctor's office this past Wednesday, I've been bringing them baked, goodies since before Christmas, they went crazy for this one.

I love peaches! I will save this until Missouri peaches ripen in late summer. Something to look forward to!
Wow! That looks delicious! I have never heard of this recipe, and I will definitely make a note. I love peaches, and I like the way all of the ingredients sound for this. Thanks so much for sharing a family recipe with us. Those are always the best!

Oh, D, this looks scrumptious! The addition of the custard just makes my mouth water. Would frozen peaches work with this, or should I wait until the grocery-peaches get a little more fruity?
Thank you, my dear, for your fabulous recipe!!!!
Hugs,
Gollum
