TABLESCAPE THURSDAY

Welcome to my participation in Susan's 27th Tablescape Thursday. Green is my favorite color, so I decided to set a green table today. No, it's not the 'GO GREEN' that is so popular these days, but rather a nice soft green. Hope you'll enjoy the look.

I've used this centerpiece many times after receiving these little Princess House floaters, as a gift from my niece. The picture isn't picking it up, but the candlelight makes the design from the crystal bowl dance on the walls. I raised the bowl, by setting it on my Lenox cake plate. The flowers surrounding it, is actually a wreath from our front door.

The Lotus tea light sits on a I. Godinger Co. cake plate. I love anything with cut work, plates, tinware or linens. I've been finding these plates at Marshall's and started collecting them as I find them.

This is a champagne glass, but we use them to serve an appetizer of either a fresh, fruit cocktail or shrimp served on lettuce leaves.

Another tea light on one of the other Godinger plates, they are different designs.

I loved the way the light is picking up the gold in this picture. The flatware is a set I bought many years ago from Spiegel's, when they had their BIG catalogs, they are brass with rosewood handles.

My stemware is Miller Rogaska, the Mayfair Gold pattern. I'm afraid we don't use these enough.

The placemats were ones I found on a trip to Marshall's.

Just another photo........

I like when the lights are turned down low.

I snuck one of my favorite, HOMCO collection pieces on the table. I recently saw the same one of eBay.

The napkins came from Marshall's, the napkin rings are very old and were a gift from my sister. They are sitting on a Lenox bread plate with a Sango dessert plate underneath.

I can't seem to get a good picture of the stemware.

I use this sugar and creamer often. Although the sugar bowl isn't really a sugar bowl, that's what I use it for.

The next picture is of my Lenox Citation Gold sandwich plate on top of our first china pattern, dinner plate, Sango, Versailles.

And the Versailles dinner plate all by itself.

One of my tinware, cut work, serving pieces. I pile it with rolls for dinner or pastry for our after dinner dessert.

I have many crystal pieces, but this little bowl is my favorite. When the proper light shines on it, it looks like a bowl full of diamonds.

This is not a good picture of the teapot, but again one of my favorites. Something that caught my eye and I just had to buy it.
Another picture of the sugar and creamer.

The cup & saucer shows up in this picture better than the others I took.

Another crystal serving bowl. I bought all of my serving pieces at Boscov's, they are imported from many different countries and sold under one company, by the name of Crystal Clear.

I thank Susan @ http://betweennapsontheporch.blogspot.com/ for hosting Tablescape Thursday.

Oh my, you had me right away with your green table setting...... My favorite color is green too. Funny you should mention Spiegels. I was just thinking a few days ago how nice it was when they had their big catalog! I miss it! Oh and one more thing before I go....that is a gorgeous tinware cutwork serving dish. I would love to have one like it. I imagine it is so useful for a number of things! Really enjoyed your post!

Hi D~ ~ ~
I stopped by for a visit and stayed awhile. So many things that I just love about your blog.
Sergei is beautiful! Since watching Lassie as a kid I have always wanted a Lassie. I'll bet kids these days don't even know who Lassie is?! I always wanted a collie and and a horse. got neither, but I did have 5 Afghan Hounds. That was a fun time we had all 5 at one time. Crazy we were!
Love the Bird cage! Interesting because I decided the other day that I want one so they are on my brain. The doves are just the right touch.
Have a wonderful weekend.

Hi D! I love the cutwork, too. Your table is beautiful, as always! You can tell that you are the master. you have so many beautiful pieces! I miss Spiegel's big catalog, too. I ordered a bed in a bag type set from there when I was first married all those years ago. Hope you are having a nice weekend. ~ Robyn

Sweet D, many many prayers are headed your way for your family. I hope she's doing well now...Mr. P. had 5 by-passes almost 7 years ago and had done well until last August.. it's definetly a roller coaster ride..I have to admit I'm a bit on the tired side..but life has to go on around here.. so I have to step up the game plan and take on more responibilities.. things he just can't do now.. I'll continue to pray for you and yours...hugs ~lynne~

I do love your table, but what really caught my eye was a picture of your dog. I have a beautiful female collie named Shelby. She is our third collie as we recently lost our 11 year old Crystal to cancer. Our Laddie was a true beauty in looks and spirit, but has been gone for several years. Shelby is very precious to us and I can tell from your writings how much you love your collie, too!
