OUR GREEN PUMPKIN :)

Last year friends gave us two green pumpkins to make pies. I've had 'a thing' for green pumpkins ever since I saw them in Martha Stewart's Fall issue in 1994. So I saved the seeds with the idea of trying to grow some this year. It looked like we only going to have one pumpkin, but while Al was cutting it off the vine, he saw another one hidden under some of the large leaves. Isn't this one a beauty.

These are the pumpkins that I fell in love with in Martha's magazine. Aren't they fantastic..... Tonight I went out to buy the tools needed to make the different shape cutouts. However, I'm not using real pumpkins, rather I've bought faux pumpkins, so that I can have them for years to come. I'll paint them a sage green, and light them with an electric candle. There is a warning on the pumpkins, (NO REAL CANDLES) Wish me luck.

Oh I love those Martha pumpkins and I am partial to the green ones too. I never thought of saving the seeds to sow for the next year. Thanks for the idea! Good luck replicating these designs It will be cool when you are done. Be sure to take lots of pics! ~ Robyn

Hi Robyn,

I think I may have 'bitten off more than I can chew' at this time. I got involved with some sewing projects along with these pumpkins. But I have to do them, I spent too much money on the tools today, to just let it go for now. But one of the things was a small, chargable drill, made just for women. :) It's something I've wanted in the past so it wasn't all spent of just tools for the pumpkins, I will have many other uses for the drill in the future.

Take care.

Hi D, I love that green pumpkin, has alot of character to it! It looks good just the way it is.
I was thinking of putting glitter all over some small pumpkins, Martha did that on an "On Demand" episode I was watching the other day. They looked really beautiful, and very easy. A good project to do with my Grandaughter. Thanks for stopping by my blog, I can see I'll get alot of decorating idea's from yours! Marie

I used to worship Martha Stewart But in the past few years ,kind of driffed away from her. If you don't mind, I would love to add you to my blog list. Don't want to miss anything. :)
